Spring is here and the days are finally getting longer. Yay for sunshine, warmth, chirping birds and blooming flowers! Here’s a roundup of favorite new items selected by our staff, readers and yours truly. Enjoy!

Sur La Table 16 Piece Outdoor Diningware Set ~ $120 (Get 15% today)
Open up the patio door — alfresco dining season is coming soon! Though you can find cheaper sets on Amazon, this 16-piece set by Sur La Table has my heart. Bonus: kids cannot break them!
Baby Milestone Stickers ~ $13
Our Editor, Melissa, LOVED using these milestone stickers during her daughter’s first year. The pack comes with 32 high-quality unisex stickers to help you document age, developmental milestones and holidays. Got twins? Check out the Original Baby Cards for Twins — similar to the Baby Milestone Stickers, these are milestone cards for your twins’ first year.
Thanks to my recent move, I’m on a major organizing kick. This lazy susan from the Container Store is awesome for so many pantry items — spices, oils, etc. Just spin it around ’til you find what you need rather than rifling through rows of bottles.
This new play pen enclosure from Skip Hop is modern and understated (though not cheap!). It’s perfect for my little guy who needs a safe space to play in. Bonus: you can configure this enclosure in a number of different ways.
*See below for more affordable (though not as cute!) play pen options.
Hunter Kids’ Rain Boot ~ $ varies
For most of the country, spring and summer mean rain and puddles. Hunter boots are the best of the best; they are super high quality, meaning the bottoms won’t wear down and spring holes after two weeks like many of the other cheaper brands. Happy puddle jumping!

Forget the kids, mom needs good rain boots too. These are on sale at 6pm.com! They’re still an investment, but I have had my pair for 12 years now. That means a lot coming from a Seattlite!
Salad in a Jar ~ $ 11
Meg: “I stumbled across this book on a recent stop into Anthrologie and I love!!! With warmer weather upon us, we’re switching from hot foods to cold. And since Lucie has Celiac’s Disease, preparing lunches for school is always a struggle; but with just a little effort and planning, you can bring a delicious — and hearty! — salad along to work instead of eating another burrito. Nicoise, chef’s salad, fattoush, curried chicken: yes please! Whole foods, FTW!
This jar is my favorite for salad making. I even send it to school with the kids and they love shaking it up and feasting on their salads.
This beautiful 3-pack of burp cloths has become my go-to baby gift. IMO, there is just no better cloth for absorbency — and they’re literally the cutest prints on the market.
Dyson makes a similar version to this styler, but it’s big bucks. I decided to give this less expensive version a try and I am super happy with it! It dries my hair quickly while simultaneously adding volume and curl, literally cutting my hair prep time in half.
One of my favorite childhood memories is picking out a Spring/Easter dress every year. Oh the nostalgia! It’s perfect for spring – and the seasonless stripe print means it can be worn all year long.
Our unseasonably cold winter in Seattle has meant more snow days than ever for us and — GULP — dreaded canceled school days. This is a game that my 2- and 5-year-old can both grasp and play together. It’s very simple to understand — a diluted version of the original game Orchard. The pieces, including the dice, aren’t teeny tiny, which makes it easy for even the smallest hands to hold.
In the warmer months, I always have to get creative for my boys because they don’t like flip flops just yet and Native Shoes tend to give them blisters (and at $40+, I am not a fan). I found these at Zappos and love them. These are easy to get on with durable Velcro straps for adjusting and a decent tread. Oh — and the $30 price point is just fine, especially since they will be handed down. Done and .
Whenever I can find a high-performing, inexpensive, nice-looking athletic shoe, I get excited. This is a perfect sneaker for running…or for “running” to get coffee in your yoga pants.
Swimsuits have arrived, people! This might be the cutest thing ever and may make me try for a baby girl (JK…my 5- and 2-year-old sons are currently on a mission to kill me). Scoop these flutter sleeve suits up before they sell out!
New this month!! It’s no secret that we love Tula. The new “Coast” carrier style has a wider mesh panel in the middle for ventilation. This carrier is perfect for active lifestyles and warmer climates and is available in a number of fun prints!
This is such a cute hoodie for colder spring mornings — and the price is right! I am just such a fan of little boys in light pinks and purples.
“Kneeling on the hard tile next to the tub is SO comfortable,” said no parent ever. This bath kneeler and elbow rest pad set are true knee and elbow savers during bath time. It’s also ideal for grandparents who are in the business of bathing babies.
Baby deedee is one of my top picks when it comes to sleep sacks. Their Sleep Nest Teddy is always my favorite winter sleep sack due to its 2.5 TOG. They recently sent me a sample of their new blanket and I love it so much I keep snatching it from my sons! Ha! But seriously, spring nights can be cool and this blanket is winning!
Thanks for reading – Happy March!!!
